It features two finely carved front doors flanked by decorated columns with scrolling and foliage motif, topped by carved finials. The broad surfaces of these panels enhance the extraordinary natural richness and warm patina of the rosewood. The crown is in the form of a demi lune with projecting corners, bordered by elegant molding. On the inside, the armoire comprises two shelves.
The motif in the upper part of the doors features a carved mythical owl in the center and foliate carving in the corners. The owl featured prominently in Greek mythology and was understood to be a symbol of intelligence.
